Our Spring Recital will be Saturday
June 20th at 4:30 pm for the first group and 6:00 pm for the
second group. Check with your teacher to make sure which
time is correct for your student. The recital will be at
Kearns High School. 5525 Cougar Lane (4800 West) across from
the Olympic Oval. This will be the last class of the year!!!
There will be a dress rehearsal at Axis Dance Center on
Thursday June 18th from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. NO COMBO KIDS
PLEASE. The Combo kids will have their dress rehearsal
at Axis Dance Center during their last regular class time
preceding the recital. Students need to be at the high
school 45 minutes early. Please have their makeup and
costume on.
Picture info: Individual photos will be taken on June
18th starting at 12 noon. Please sign up for your best time.
Please do not plan on having pictures taken during the
recital as no individual photos will be taken. Pictures will
be taken during dress rehearsal.
Recital DVD: A recital DVD will be made for parents
to purchase for $30.00. There will be no other video taping
allowed as this will be a professional production (4
cameras). No flash photography will be allowed during the
performance as it will compromise the integrity of the DVD.
DVDs need to be ordered in advance and will be mailed
directly to your home.
COMPETITION TEAM TRY-OUTS will be on Friday June 5th.
Competition Team Tryouts for 8+-18 year olds are at 5:00 pm.
Anyone who will be 8 years or older this next school year is
eligible to tryout for this group. We are looking for
beginning, intermediate and advanced dancers. $10.00 fee for
trying out.
Mini-Competitions Team Tryouts for 5-7
year olds are at 4:30 pm. Students who will be 5 years old
during the school year are eligible to tryout for our
Mini-Competition team. $10 fee for tryouts.
SUMMER CAMPS: It’s time to
sign up for summer camps! Any session full price, second
session is half price!!! Family discounts available!!
Mini Dance Camps: Theme Based Classes for 4-6 year
olds (Princess day, Beach party day, Bring a Teddy bear to
dance day etc.) Classes are Tuesday and Thursday and include
a snack! The cost is $50.00.
Session 1 June 23, 25, 30 and July 2…… 4:30-6:00pm
Session 2 July 7, 9, 14 & 16. ……………4:30-6:00 pm
Session 3 July 21,23, 28, & 30 ………….4:30-6:00 pm
Week-long Dance Camps: July 6-10th: July 13-17th:
July 27-31st
Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop technique classes with an
optional choice of Tap or Cheer/Tumbling. Classes run 9 am–3
pm, Monday–Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. The cost is
$150.00; lunch is not included.
Ballet/Jazz technique only: July 7,9,14,16,28 & 30th
(Tuesday and Thursdays) from 6-9 pm; cost is $95.00 This
class is for adults as well as kids. It will be the only
adult class running during July. (Regular Adult Classes
start in August as soon as 6 people have registered for the
class. Child care is available upon request for daytime
classes.)
Summer Drama Camp: Classes will include monologues,
scenes, improvisation, musical theater, story-telling,
makeup and puppetry. Performance for parents on the last
Friday class. Everything that a student learns in this class
is transferable to real life. Self-esteem is greatly
improved. This class is a recommended one for everyone! The
cost is $300.00 and runs two weeks. Classes run 9 am—3 pm.
Session 1 Ages 12-18 June 22-July 3rd.
Session 2 Ages 7-12 July 6-17th
Parade June 20 is the South Jordan Parade, all dance
students invited to participate in our float. We will be
meeting in the North entrance (about 11400 S 1800 W.) of the
equestrian park, at 8 am. Students may wear one of their
dance recital costumes or an Axis Dance Center T-shirt,
denim shorts, “wacky socks” and tennis shoes. T-shirts are
being given out free for registration!! Please have them
wear sun screen. Water and snacks will be provided. Parade
starts at 9 am and parade ends at city hall parking lot
(10700 S) Students will be walking and dancing to recital
tunes.
Fall Registration
Continues: Classes are filling up. Sign up now for your
preferred time and teacher. And get a free T-shirt for the
