December Recital:
Our December Recital is scheduled for December 11th.
We are splitting up the groups a bit. Our Combo and Monday
Lil B Boys classes are performing at the South Towne Expo
Center at 11 am. It is in conjunction with the Elves Gift
show. Students and their parents need to be at the Center
at 10:30 all dressed in their costume, with makeup, ready to
perform.
All of our other classes will be at Kearns High School at
2:30 pm also December 11th. Students need to be ready to
perform at least 45 minutes early. This will allow the
students to find their teacher and get organized for the
recital. Don't forget that the $25.00 recital fee is now
due for these students.
Dress Rehearsal: The
dress rehearsal is scheduled for the Thursday December 9th
at 6 pm. It will be at Axis Dance Center. All students
(not combos or Monday lil b boys) should plan on being at
the Thursday dress rehearsal, this gives the other students
a chance to watch all the numbers, and dance in their
costumes. This is also a good chance to practice hair and
makeup, and costume changes. There will be several
locations set up for costume changes in the studio.
The dress rehearsal only applies to the kids that will be
performing at the High School. All Combo and Lil B Boys
will be doing their dress rehearsal in their classrooms the
week before the performance. Please bring your costumes to
class so that students can practice their dance numbers in
their costume.
Photo Schedule: Matt
Smith Photography will be doing our individual and class
photos again this year. He will be set up on Saturday
December 4th from 10-5 pm for individual photos. The combo
students that are going to South Town Expo Center will need
to get with their classes and decide what time they would
like to take their group photos on Saturday December 4th,.
Matt will be at the High School to take the class photos on
December 11th.
Bring-a-friend to dance Week:
The week after our recital is party time. This is a great
time to 'bring a friend to dance'. The students will have
an opportunity to try out a class at no charge in a very
relaxed environment. If they register for a class, you get a
$25.00 referral fee applied to your account and your friend
gets a free t-shirt.
Mandatory Competition Parents
Meeting: There will be a competition parents
meeting on Wednesday November 17th at 6:30. We will be
choosing competitions, discussing makeup and costume issues,
schedules etc. Please be there as this is going to have
lots of good information.
New at Axis!!
Drop-in Child Care:
We are very excited to have Rachel Nell join the Axis Group.
She is the Child Care Director. She has had 15 years of
child care experience at other locations in the SLC valley.
Child Care will now be available from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday -
Friday and by appointment for Friday evening or Saturday.
Drop-in for Christmas shopping, doctor appointments, work
schedule overlaps, funerals, fitness classes, or lunch.
This will be an excellent resource for everyone involved.

Off Track Classes starting in
January!! We will be offering drop-in
classes for off-track students. Music (singing) Jazz, Hip
hop Creative Drama, and Tumbling. All of these classes will
be in the afternoon, and will offer lots of good training
and experience for your off-track students. These are NON
performance classes. Drop in fee will be $5.00 per class,
per day.
Music Class:
Thursdays 3:15-4:15 pm. Class will start with vocal
warm-ups, then very familiar songs will be learned. Rhythm,
harmony and melody terms will be covered.
Jazz: Monday and
Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 This class will be good for beginner-
intermediate dancers, it will focus on jazz technique, and
high energy movement Creative Drama: Tuesday and Thursday
2:15-3:15 pm this class will have a lot of theater games,
creative imagination play, and improvisation activities. It
will be lots of fun for all ages.
Hip Hop/Breakin:
1:15-2:15 pm daily. This class will be a high energy class
that combines Hip hop and Breakdance techniques for an
exciting class.
Tumbling: Friday
2:15-3:15 Class will cover basic tumbling skills, forward
roll, backward roll, cartwheel, round off, etc.

5 week Dance Co. or Drill Team Prep Class: $60.00 This is
a great class for those students that want to tryout for the
Dance Company at High School. Classes run 3:30-5 pm on
Fridays.
Dance skills will be focused on techniques used in Dance
Company or Drill Team tryouts. For a total of 5 weeks, then
it will start over, students may continue the class, by
paying for the next session. Class size is limited so

Just a Reminder to Santa's!
We have dance bags, leotards, dance tops, ballet
shoes, and tights. These make great Christmas presents,
tell the Grandparents!!
Guitar Lessons:
Bill, our guitar instructor, will be starting a new session
of lessons on Friday. He recommends an acoustic guitar to
start as the nylon strings are easier to learn on.
Santa, hint - hint - come to Axis for your lessons.
